The hotel's rooms are small and minimalist, so consider upgrading to a superior room for a better experience with robes and a welcoming drink. Unfortunately, the heating was not turned on until check-out despite the issue being raised. The staff were adequate during my stay, verified by a visit to my room at 8.30 pm.

Service
7.0
Although the staff apologized each time I contacted them about the heating, they could only offer short boosts; however, they were amazing overall. The staff were attentive, but sometimes overly focused on tidying up.
Location
8.0
The location was ideal for exploring pubs and shops, and it was convenient for my trip's purpose. It was also perfect for visiting family.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience had some issues; it was poor for a hotel of this quality, and there were delays in replenishing hot trays. However, the breakfast selection was decent, and it was a self-service arrangement.
Facilities

The facilities were sufficient for my stay.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were spacious, allowing the kids to play freely, but they could use a refresh. The noise from the floorboards was a downside, though.

Rooms

The rooms were spacious, perfect for the kids to play without disturbing others, but in need of a refresh. The noise from the floorboards was quite bothersome.
Service
8.0
The staff were lovely and helpful, although they struggled with making Caribbean coffee initially. At least they made an effort to accommodate our request for extra duvets due to the mattress hardness.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location suited my needs well, being in central Dumfries and close to the town center. However, there was a small issue with heating that was forgotten to be turned on.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was average; the hot food kept running out, and the breakfast was okay but not exceptional.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offers essential facilities but nothing extraordinary. However, it was missing some attention to detail in certain aspects.

The hotel had surprisingly well-lit rooms where I could easily read at night. The room decor was to my taste, although some parts seemed a bit tired. However, it had everything I needed, including a fantastic jacuzzi bath and a spotless TV in the bathroom.
